With the digital world playing a larger part in children's lives, parents need to be proactive and engage in digital citizenship education at home with their children. It's important for parents to know what their children are doing online to help them make good choices on how to be safe and responsible online.

Ways Parents Can Help Teach Digital Citizenship at Home
  1. Be a role model with digital media.
  2. Know what your child is doing online. Have a conversation with your child about they are doing online.
  3. Seek balance between the real world and digital world by setting limits.
  4. Teach your children the skills they need to know to use technology safely and wisely.
  5. Don't be afraid of the technology. Have your children teach you something about technology if you don't know. Enjoy the possibilities together!
  6. Pass along your wisdom and value of kindness and teach your children about the implications of their actions.
